Permission to use song

We were scared that the record label of Action Borson wasn't going to let us use his song miss "Fordham road 86' 87' 88" this would of been a huge step back to what we were hoping our film would look like. This song was perfect to our movie because it brought the Latin tone and gangster mood that we were looking for. We wanted our song to show our characters back ground and let the viewer know the song is a big part of the opening of the film. We had send emails to Action Borson, his manager and the record label. They took a really long time for them to answer us. After we send them another email to all of them explaining in detail that we weren't going to use his song for promotional purposes they answered. They told us that we could use it in our school project and wished us luck. It was great news of them letting us use his song. This has let us continue our vision of how we want our movie to be. We already know when we are going to use the song in a way that's entertaining and adds a bigger message to the film. We really hope you like the song we used and that you can see why we picked this song.

Finishing touches

Our last day in Miami. We filmed the ending of our introduction. We went to Miami and found the top of this parking lot. We also we around wynwood and took videos of the art in the walls that would relate to the film. We are using wynwood footage if we need to have more time in our video. At the top of the garage it's Carlos going to an interview not knowing what to expect. Then the car comes with two people. And one of them gets out and from the drivers seat and opens the passenger seat ad this wee dressed Hispanic mafia men comes out. They talk for a little to know all of their characters. Then that would be it. We filmed this part at night with no cars and no one around. We wanted to build mystery and suspense. We also got a taxi to let us film. We showed Carlos getting to the garage by taxi. Then you see Carlos going up. We did cuts to show that he was going up in the elevator but not making the scene so long that way we  didn't waisted time. Our next step would be to edit and make everything come together the best way as possible. We need to make sure everyone agreees on the final touches and everyone's image is displayed on the movie.

Second day of filming

We are going to show different locations of Miami. We showed Calle 8 and nice places in Miami downtown. We took shots of call 8 because this shows where our character is from and where he was raised. This location is full of hipanics. Showing his Hispanic background and how he knows people that are involved with breaking the law. We also showed nice places of Miami downtown and there nice buildings they have. This shows what the main character is looking to have one day. He wants to live in a nice places in an amazing building with the view of the beach. We re showing this shots after he pulls out of disposing the body. With music that matches our movie. The song has a Spanish flow with rap in it. This again is to show his hipanic background and how hispanics are a big part of Miami. We took 2 hours to go and take videos in the street and of signs. We decided to show this quick shots of Miami because it is also a good reason to show the tittle and everything of our film.

part of filming

We are finished filming. We have done all of the shots that we needed to take. For ur first scene we went to this abandoned street and took a video of Carlos disposing a body and driving away. We tried to show him as clueless and he really doesn't know how to do his job. He's new to the mafia businesss and that's why he looks like he isn't careful with the body. He's just a young adult who needed money quick and decided to get involved with the wrong people. This took us time to film because the body bag is actually two bags with a weight inside with thick blanket. Sometimes the bag would destroy the bag. After that we would mess up in where to put the "body". We also put in this scene Carlos getting in the car and driving away fast. Then i bog bang would come from the trunks direction. This would show that he has another body in the trunk. This would of made no sense and it would be confusing for the viewer so we decided to show that part. This was how our first day of filming went.

Props

To make the missense scene real and believable we had to get props to make everything real. We had to go To this abandon street to get the starting shot. We brought two black bags and a conferder with a  20 pound weight. We put the confeder in the bag with the weight. We settled the conferder to look like a body in the bag. Piti then starts to kick the bag and drags it away from the shot it looks like it weights a lot cause of the weight. And then we cut to Piti getting in the car and backing away and driving off hearing a loud nouise in the trunk. I had to get in the trunk and hit the trunk with the weight to make it sound like a dead body was in the trunk.
